We Wish You & Yours A Very Merry Christmas…

(found at inkypaw.com)

and hope these photos of our Christmas Dinner (sprinkled with images of our favorite subject) will give you a chuckle and put you in the HO HO HO spirit!

The fun starts here..with Colleen and Gary. As you can see, Colleen is FULL of the devil and this time of year loves to suprise us with her gestures of love, her playful spirit and her endless generosity. She took the whole crew out to dinner at the Lost Roo Restaurant in Long Beach, WA.

After ordering our dinners we began opening our gifts. Each of us had a Secret Santa which is always a recipe for laughter! Here we are for your amusement:

Introducing Ethel the Princess…

Our latest addition to “the friends of Copper” is Ethel. Isn’t she a doll!

This little charmer is the girl of Erica La Scala and family. Ethel was wearing just her pink tulle skirt

when she and her family came by the restaurant. Her mom, Erica, was kind enough to

send us this picture of Ethel in the complete outfit!

Thank you. I won’t be surprised to see this picture pinned up on the wall next to Copper’s bed!

Second Street Public Market

2003 Second Street ~ Tillamook, OR

Saturday, October 2nd

10am to 7pm

The purpose of this event is to bring knitters together for an enjoyable day of knitting and conversation in the beautiful new Second Street Public Market. Where? You guessed it…the public space in front of the stage!

If you are an experienced knitter, share your knowledge. If you have never knit, we will show you how!

Come knit for a few minutes, a few hours or all day. Our goal is to bring at least 100 knitters together to share their love of knitting, wool, and all things fiber!

We will be collecting knitted or crochet hats for Blanket Coverage ~ a ministry that provides hats and blankets for the homeless in the Portland area.

If you have a knitting show & tell, bring it … if you don’t, come anyway! I have goosebumps just imagining all those needles going at once all in the same place! DON’T MISS IT.

Lucy, Maddy & Gracie

What a week-end!

Rod Run, Sunshine, loads of people everywhere…but my favorite part was Lucy, Maddy & Gracie!

Lucy is a more delicate and a bit older version of myself.

Simply put….a vision.

Look at that face. ohh and that sleek shiny coat;

Why…….it is like looking in a mirror. I am in love.

And then of course are Lucy’s lovely sisters, Gracie and Maddy…

These gals are as loving and gentle as they come! I am so glad they all came to see me and sent their pictures too!!!

You are welcome to send me your picture (you don’t have to be a Lucy; a Larry is fine) I just want to invite you to join my page of

perfectly wonderful pooches!

Thanks again girls! What a week-end!!!

Licks & Kisses ~ COPPER

Summer has struck!

One minute I was curled up in my warm cozy bed, wearing my warm cozy coat, cuddling my cat, Lucky, and the next minute  –  POW!!!!  –  Summer stikes! People here and there and everywhere, coming and going so fast I can’t keep track. Maria took off for a whole month and left me here, speechless, Mom is cooking up a storm and Dad wants nothing to do with this here computer. So if you have missed me half as much as I have missed you, relax and know that I AM BACK!

Art in the Park was a smashing success! Lots of people came to check out the handy work of our local artists. We will post pictures soon. I expect next year to be even bigger and better. With any luck the sun will shine for us in 2011  8-)

The Tapestry Rose Annex in Tillamook is an instant hit with the Oregon Coast community. Candy and Teresa have fixed the place up so darn nice. If you haven’t been down there to see it, you really must go! They have even started their own knitting group….the Rosetta’s Too (2, two, II). Busy, busy, busy.

Here at the mother shop, we’ve just gotten in a fresh assortment of Fame Trends. I’m tellin ya, this is some fiercely beautiful sock yarn.

Here are a couple of ideas/projects made from Fame Trends.

You will have to contact Swedish Yarns about the patterns.

Phone: (800) 331-KNIT, or E-mail: info@swedishyarn.com, website: http://www.swedishyarn.com/yarn_fame_trend.htm

There is so much more to sock yarn than socks!

I’m headed out the door now. I’ve got deer to chase, flowers to roll in and sun to soak up. Talk to you again soon.

Licks of love,

COPPER

Mice and Men…

We all know the old saying….Best layed (or is it laid?) plans of mice and men.

Yes well, along those lines I regret to announce the opening of Tapestry Rose Yarn Annex in Tillamook will be post-poned until sometime in June. The 2nd Street Public Market, where we will be located, has not quite finished some critical projects in order to open the doors this week-end. I suggest you stay on the peninsula for now and come see us on the beach in Ocean Park! I’ll let you know when we are opening down south!

Copper takes on a giant…

I have always believed myself to be completely lovable, wholly agreeable and altogether beyond reproach. So imagine my surprise and  horror when I was confronted, challenged, and even attacked by a big giant……….um…….whats the word?……..oh yeah, DOG.

It BiT me!

oh the pain!

Mom and Dad were certainly surprised that I was still alive and kicking. Both me and my cat Lucky. Only I was in pretty rough shape for a week or two.

I’m on the mend now.

Just a word of caution…stay away from those dogs!

Needlepoint, Cross Stitch, Embroidry, Oh My!

Are you an enthusiast of these arts? If so, I have a treat for you.

All of our DMC Skiens of Size 3 & Size 5 Pearl Cotton are 25% off.

We have a nice selection of colors in each size.

This beautiful twisted thread has a satiny, supple and silky feel, giving your needlework projects a raised aspect and lustrous finish.
Come in early for best selection. And visit www.dmc-usa.com for more ideas and free patterns.

It is extremely easy to work with and well adapted to a wide variety of fabrics as well as all types of stitches.

“Poop Outside But Not In The House!”

One of our customers shared this story from his journal with Colleen and we share it with you here now…

At the beach 2.27.10

I woke up this morning and went to open the blinds

Crack open the window to hear ocean sounds that sooth my mind.

With my slippers on, I stepped on a log

During the night duty left behind by my dog.

Walking out to the back door to greet a rainy day

That’s when I noticed a terrible fume wafting my way.

I love my little boy but he threw me for a loop

I didn’t notice at first that I had stepped in his poop.

I tracked it around the soft squishy bedroom floor

Yep, I didn’t notice till I was at the back door.

I yelled and I shouted but this to no avail

All Benny could do was wag his wiggly tail.

Poop’s hard to see on a brown shag rug

And Benny just stared with that innocent little mug.

Washing and cleaning while down on my knees

Thats when I saw the signs that he had also peed.

I grabbed all the things to clean up the mess

And became fuming mad and wasn’t at my best.

I followed the trail and finally came to the spot

Where last night he dropped a bomb that musta been warm but not hot.

The odor was so bad, it really just stunk

I thought it was worse than the smell of a skunk.

I lit scented candles and opened all doors of the house

The stench was so bad now it could kill any mouse.

Benny went running when he heard my foul cussing words

He was completely aware Dad had stepped in his turds.

I got carried away with my anger and wrath

When I realized I had spread it over a very long path.

I finished the cleaning but the rug needs shampooed

A wretched start to the day when in the house my dog pooed.

Being sound asleep, I hadn’t heard his call

To tell me he needed out and it wasn’t his fault.

So we let it go and bye gones be gone

I love my little dog and when he’s bad still does no wrong.

Now snuggled together under a blanket as one

Me and my dog and the clean up is done.

Coppervane & Lucky

Not to be outdone by Copper (or his likeness), Lucky perches atop the building next to the  Coppervane. This picture was captured by our friend and customer, Ilona, on her camera phone! Keep taking those great candid shots Ilona…we love them :-D
